Athletes from all over Colombia and the world will gather at the 1st Valid International Cup of the Mezuena Egan Bernal Cup, which will take place starting at 8:00 a.m. this Sunday, March 27, on the Salt Cathedral mountain bike track. of Zipaquira.

“We will have more than 500 participants with the presence of runners from various countries, in our categories that range from 3 years of age to masters and recreational adults. It will award UCI points to riders in the Junior categories for their world ranking,” the Mezuena Foundation said in a statement.

The Mezuena Cup, registered in the International Cycling Union calendar, is a prestigious annual series of mountain biking events for girls and boys developed by the Mezuena Foundation since 2015, which since this year has the support of the 2019 Tour de France champion and from the Giro d’Italia 2021, Egan Bernal.

The competition will have four stops, of which three will be endorsed by the International Cycling Union (UCI). The first will be held on March 27 at the Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral, another in June in Chía on the Pan-American track, the third in the municipality of Cajicá and the last one in October, the only one that will not be UCI.
