PACHUCA, HIDALGO. The XXXIV Pan American Road Championship revealed its first champions on Wednesday, after running the individual time trial events in the elite and sub 23 categories of women and men.
The American Leah Thomas was the main character of the day to travel the 22 kilometers with a formidable time of 28 minutes, 19 seconds and 883 thousandths, to overcome his compatriot Amber Neben and Chilean Costanza Paredes, his companions on the podium of awards .
Among those under 23 years of age, the Trinidadian Teniel Campbell won with a time of 30 minutes, 40 seconds and 631 thousandths, better time than the Costa Rican Jennifer Morales and the Cuban Heydi Praderas, silver and bronze medalists, respectively.
The men of the elite category had as champion the Colombian Brandon Smith, who at the end of the 33 kilometers of course reflected a time of 00: 54: 10.321 minutes, better time than the Chilean José Rodríguez and the Mexican Ignacio de Jesús Prado, silver and bronze in that order.
Among the men under 23 years, the Chilean Diego Ferreyra won with a time of 00: 41: 10.375 minutes. The silver and bronze medals were for the Ecuadorian Alexis Benjamín Quinteros and the Honduran Luis Enrique López.
