The Colombian Cycling Federation has confirmed the official route for the 76th edition of the Vuelta a Colombia Sistecrédito, the most important stage race on the national cycling calendar. The race will take place from August 8th to 16th on the roads of the departments of Huila, Tolima, Caldas, and Antioquia.
The competition will consist of nine stages, including sprint stages, medium and high mountain stages, a demanding individual time trial, and a final circuit in Medellín, which will determine the successor to Rodrigo Contreras, the current two-time champion.
The race will begin on Saturday, August 8th, with a 187-kilometer stage between Neiva and Pitalito, passing through the municipalities of Campoalegre, Hobo, Gigante, Garzón, Altamira, and Timaná. This stage is ideal for identifying the main contenders for the title.
The following day, the peloton will depart from the San Agustín Archaeological Park for a 169.9-kilometer stage finishing in Garzón, passing through Pitalito, Timaná, Altamira, and Gigante before returning to the capital of the Huila diocese.
The third stage will take the race back to Neiva over 160.5 kilometers, on a route that will pass through Gigante, Hobo, Campoalegre, and the El Juncal area before concluding in the capital of Huila.
The fourth stage will mark the race’s departure from Huila with a 196.9-kilometer route between Neiva and Ibagué, crossing through Aipe, Natagaima, Castilla, Saldaña, Guamo, Espinal, Chicoral, and the Gualanday Tunnel before arriving at the Sports Park in the capital of Tolima.
The high mountains will make their appearance on stage five with a 164.7-kilometer route between Ibagué and Alto El Sifón, passing through Alvarado, Venadillo, Lérida, Armero, Líbano, and Murillo, in one of the most demanding climbs of the 2026 edition.
The sixth day of competition will take the race to the Coffee Region and Antioquia with a 161.1-kilometer stage between Manizales and Jericó, passing through La Manuela, Irra, La Felisa, and La Pintada.
The seventh stage, at 135.2 kilometers, will be another key day for the climbers, starting in Jericó and finishing at Alto Ecosiembra, after passing through La Pintada, Peñalisa, Anzá, and Santa Fe de Antioquia.
The gaps between the favorites could be defined on August 15, when a 33.6-kilometer individual time trial will be held between Santa Fe de Antioquia and the entrance to the Western Tunnel.
Finally, on Sunday, August 16, Medellín will once again host the traditional closing circuit. The route will consist of eight laps of a 13.1-kilometer circuit, for a total of 104 kilometers, starting and finishing in El Poblado Park, where the champion of the 76th edition of the Vuelta a Colombia Sistecrédito will be crowned.
In total, the race will cover 1,473 kilometers, offering a balance of stages suited to different types of riders, as well as decisive mountain stages and time trials—ingredients that promise an intense battle for the title of one of the most emblematic races in Colombian cycling.
