From July 26 to 30, the eighth edition of the Women’s Tour of Colombia 2023 will be held, an event belonging to the UCI 2.2 international calendar, which will cover more than 466 kilometers, through the departments of Cundinamarca, Boyacá and Santander.

The municipality of Sopó, in Cundinamarca, will be in charge of opening the competitions of the most important women’s race on the national calendar, on Wednesday, July 26, when the first stage will be held, which will leave for the city of Tunja, in fraction that will have 112.2 kilometers of route.

On Thursday 27, the runners in the elite and Under-23 categories will leave Tunja, and will pass through the municipalities of Arcabuco and Moniquirá, in Boyacá, and Barbosa, in Santander, to reach Oiba, after traveling 132.3 kilometers.

In the third stage, which will take place on Friday, July 28, an individual time trial of 21.3 kilometers will be held between San Gil and Barichara, while on Saturday the 29th the fourth fraction will be held, from Curití to Bucaramanga, in a day in which 102.5 kilometers will be run.

The Women’s Tour of Colombia 2023 will end for the second consecutive time, in the city of Bucaramanga, when the fifth stage will be held in a 14-kilometer circuit through the beautiful city, which the riders must cover in seven laps, for a total of 98 kilometres.

Diana Peñuela from Calda will seek to defend the title achieved in the 2022 edition, in the competition that has seen the Venezuelan Lilibeth Chacón as champions in 2021; Ecuadorian Myriam Núñez, in 2020; the Chilean Aranza Villalón, in 2019, and the Colombian Ana Cristina Sanabria, winner of the first three editions.

The 2023 Women’s Tour of Colombia will begin its official activity on Tuesday, July 25, with the review of licences, confirmation of riders and delivery of accreditations, between 9:00 in the morning and 12:00 noon, at the Sopo Coliseum.

From 1:00 to 2:00 in the afternoon the Technical Meeting will take place, and from 2:00 to 2:30 the meeting of the commissioners with the Police, the accredited media and the drivers who will be in the caravan .

The official presentation of the participating teams will take place starting at 3:00 p.m., at the Parque Principal de Sopó.
