With the confirmation to date of riders from six nations, the third edition of the Tour of Honduras (from September 13 to 17) grows compared to the one held a year ago; Meanwhile, the five stages and the 483 kilometers to be covered have already been defined in order to meet the new individual and collective champions of the contest.
The Organizing Committee is still working on the marking and delimitation of the routes through which the caravan will pass; At the same time, approaches are made with authorities from the different communities and municipalities where the Vuelta will be arriving.
Among the teams already confirmed, Voler Factory Racing from the United States stands out, who will compete for the third time in this fight. Voler has been a collective podium and in the general classification of the Tour of Honduras in 2021 they obtained 2nd and 3rd. They also managed to win the mountain shirt and flying goals.
Another selection that knows the fight is the Honduran team ACT-MEGAPLASTICOS-REBORN, which will participate in its third opportunity with a well-known team and with tradition in recent years with runners from all over the country.
Finally, the Guatemalan team Team Hino will also honor this tour. He was already in the 2022 version, in which he managed to finish in 2nd and 3rd place in the General Classification, so we know that they will be one of the great entertainers of this 3rd edition of the Tour of Honduras.
Stages:
September 13 – 1st Stage
Leaving from Uno Betancourt Gas Station and ending in the municipality of Lamani. It will be held over 96.1 kilometers and will have an Intermediate sprint and two 4th category mountain prizes 🙌🏼
September 14 – 2nd Stage
With a route of 134.7 kilometers and 2,154 meters of unevenness, it will be the longest stage of this edition. Leaving Villa de San Antonio, reaching Caridad and returning to Villa de San Antonio, with five mountain prizes and two intermediate sprints. It will undoubtedly be a stage that will set the course for the leaders.
September 15 – 3rd Stage
It will be an individual time trial of 11.3 km and a cumulative drop of 423 m, starting from Comayagua and ending at the Cuesta de la Virgen.
September 16 – 4th Stage
Starting from Lake Yojoa, reaching La Barca and ending in Concepción del Sur, it will undoubtedly be the queen stage with 106.5 kilometers. In addition, the last 1.5 kilometers will have a section of dirt road and an average inclination of 11.5%.
September 17- 5th stage:
Tegucigalpa, the capital of the country, will host this last event, with a 74.4-kilometer route on Boulevard Suyapa.
