The 59th edition of the Tour of Táchira, which will take place from January 14 to 21 of next year, already has an official route, which includes a large part of the geography of the border entity, also touching Colombian territory, reaching Cúcuta, capital of the Norte de Santander and the tourist city of Mérida in the Venezuelan Andes.

The officialization of the long-awaited route of one of the most important cycling events in South America was made within the framework of the Reporte Bernal program, which like every Friday is presented and conducted by the first political authority of the state Freddy Bernal Rosales, who in the company of the President of the Tachirense Sports Institute José Gregorio Freites announced each of the eight stages included in the 2024 edition.

In this way it was known that the “Greatest of America” begins with the metropolitan circuit between the cities of San Cristóbal and Táriba in the first stage; The second emotion will lower the checkered flag in the capital of the Torbes municipality to head towards San Joaquín de Navay, jurisdiction of the Liberador municipality, returning and ending in the capital of Táchira.

The third thrill of the Andean tour will have the finish line in San Juan de Colón in the northern area of Táchira, to reach the Samuel Darío Maldonado municipality and see the checkerboard descend in La Tendida; The Ecuador of the competition that opens the calendar of the International Cycling Union, will be in Mérida, there the race will adorn the streets of the university city of Venezuela with its colorful caravan, with the creation of a circuit.

The Vuelta returns to Táchira, to celebrate the fifth episode, which will move the meandering competition from La Tendida to take it through the different Andean landscapes to La Grita, making this one of the toughest stages; For the sixth broadcast, the race will hear the starting signal in El Piñal in the southern part of the entity, and then enter the mountains again and finish in Borotá, a land that after many years meets cycling again.

The queen stage of the return will be the seventh, it is the most demanding, it will have a varied terrain, in addition to being the one that will touch the territory of Norte de Santander. This faction will weigh anchor in the Pedro María Ureña municipality, go to Cúcuta in Colombian land and then will be taking ascending terrain to finish at the mythical arrival at the Monument to Christ the King of Capacho, it will be an exciting journey from start to finish.

The stage that lowers the curtain of the 59th edition of the Tour of Táchira will be the one that takes place in the traditional “Santos Rafael Bermúdez” circuit that traditionally takes place on España and 19 de Abril avenues with the end at the Velodrome J.J Mora Figueroa of Pueblo Nuevo, where fans of the sport of cranks will be able to fully enjoy the cyclists, and therefore the spectacle they provide in pursuit of their triumph.
