The Track Cycling Nations Cup in Cali postponed Through an Official Communiqué of the International Cycling Union (UCI), this Monday the postponement of the second round of the Tissot UCI 2021 Track Cycling Nations Cup was reported, which was scheduled for the Colombian city between 3 and June 6 to come.
The reasons for this postponement came from the organizers in the face of the acute health and social crisis that Colombia is experiencing these days, related to the Covid-19 pandemic, which has not been controlled by the medical authorities at the desired levels.
The UCI, as the governing body of world cycling, confirmed that they are currently working on the search for new dates for this event, which for the moment is expected to be held after the Tokyo Olympic Games.
The first phase of this 2021 Tissot UCI Track Cycling Nations Cup was held in Hong Kong from May 13 to 16 and for America only the American Asthon Lambie could participate, who took the gold in the individual pursuit.
Due to the current context in Colombia, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announces that the round of the 2021 Tissot UCI Track Cycling Nations Cup, which was due to take place between 3 and 6 June 2021 in Cali (Colombia), has been postponed at the request of the organisers.
The UCI is currently working with the organising committee to find alternative dates to guarantee that the series takes place in the format initially established.
The UCI would like to thank the organisers for their cooperation in this difficult situation, as well as the athletes, National Federations and all concerned parties for their understanding.
