The American Kristen Faulkner, sixth in the world in the time trial in 2022, comfortably won the event at the XIX Pan American Games, while the Cuban Arlenis Sierra finished with silver and the Chilean Aranza Villalón took the bronze.

Faulkner, a Harvard graduate, Silicon Valley investor and professional runner for the UCI Women’s Continental Team Team Jayco–AlUla, needed a time of 25:45.38 to win the gold medal ahead of Sierra (26:07.11) and Villalón (26:07.28), in a competition held on Isla de Maipo, on the outskirts of Santiago de Chile.
