With a masterful sprint, Bredio Ruiz (Rali Yajois) from Herrera won today the second stage of the XLIII Tour of Chiriquí 2024, which has left Costa Rican Gabriel Rojas as the new leader.

There were 96.6 kilometers, divided into 20 laps, in which Ruiz spent 2 hours 2 hours 27 minutes and 38 seconds, surpassing Fernando Ureña from Chirica (Descarados Cycling Club) and Roberto González (Rali Giant) from Santeo, who completed the podium. .

“I am happy with this victory that comes to us on my son Ethan’s birthday. Thank you very much to the team for your support, it feels good to win, thank God,” the rider from La Arena, in Chitré, said of the victory.

After this day, Gabriel Rojas (7C Economy Lacoinex) took the lead in the individual overall standings by winning a bonus second in one of the intermediate finishes of the route.

“The team continues to do road work. This continues and we are prepared for what awaits us in the next stages,” Rojas said.

Franklin Archibold (Panama is Culture and Values) remains the best National at 3 seconds difference, while Edward Castillo (Revolución Cycling Team) is the Master leader. Fabio Gámez (7C Economy Lacoinex) leads in Sub23 and Bredio Ruiz himself leads in the points classification.

The third stage of this Vuelta will be run this January 10 over 146 kilometers, between David, Progreso, San Pablo, Los Anastacios and David, starting at 9:00 a.m. m., from the Municipality.
