In a finish at pure speed, Christofer Jurado (Panama is Culture and Values) won the fourth stage of the Tour of Chiriquí. The Panamanian emerged victorious after racing 99 kilometers around the city of David, while his teammate Alex Strah became the new leader of the race.

In the end, the group of 15 cyclists controlled the race, stopping attacks in the last meters, defining everything in the sprint, in which the Canalero rider took the victory ahead of his compatriot Roberto González (Rali-Giant) and the Costa Rican Pablo Luis Mudarra (Team Colono Bikestation Kölbi).

At the end of the stage, the new leader of the tour declared to the accredited media: “The team’s work has been spectacular, thank God we maintain the leadership, since Sandi Guerra, who is my castmate, also dressed with this garment,” said Alex Strah.

On the other hand, the young Colombian cyclist Brayan Quintero became the best sub-23 of the Vuelta a Chiriquí 2024, after arriving with the favorites on the first mountainous day of the Panamanian round.

The beetle, who arrived within the main group, took over the white shirt that identifies him as the best young man in the canal competition after finishing the fourth day. Quintero once again entered the top 15 with the same time as the winner.

After his great performance in the first four fractions, the runner from the Mexican team Esparza Pergolas Isostar once again finished as the best young man and climbed onto the podium for the first time to claim the white jersey.

Quintero is barely 20 years old, he has had an excellent career, and leads the sub-23 classification with 3:11 ahead of Costa Rican Dylan Jiménez (7c Economy-Laiconex).

This Friday, January 12, the fifth stage of the International Tour of Chiriquí will be held, a 132-kilometer section around the city of David. The successor of the Colombian Marco Tulio Suesca, champion of the last edition in 2022, will be known next Sunday, January 14 in David (Panama).
