CARACAS. The local cyclist Orluis Aular, who defends the colors of the Venezuelan National Team, has again imposed himself in the fifth stage of the 56th edition of the Vuelta a Venezuela, an individual time trial of 28.4 kilometers with departure and arrival in the town of Pavia.
Aular, who had already won three sprint victories, was also the fastest in the timekeeping and stopped the clock with 40 minutes and 33 seconds, a record 29 seconds better than Carlos Galvis (Deportivo Táchira), second, and 1 minute and 13 seconds faster than the one established by José Rujano (Venezuela Country of Future), third.
After his fourth win Aular consolidates his leadership and already has 2 minutes and 3 seconds over Galvis and 2 minutes and 55 seconds over Rujano to defend the yellow.
The Tour of Venezuela will continue on Monday with the dispute of its sixth stage, 135.2 kilometers between Barquisimeto and San Felipe. (EFE)
