Movistar Team, the cycling team of the highest category that has relied more on Hispanic American talent, will continue to bet on Latin American riders next season. Venezuelan Orluis Aular joins the squad directed by Eusebio Unzué after having brought with Caja Rural-Seguros RGA his best successes as a professional in the last two seasons.
Aular arrives at the telephone squad for the next two seasons (2025-26) after two recent campaigns in ‘green’ that have been an explosion for the six-time national champion -two in line; four in CRI, the last one in force in 2024-.
“It has been my best year. Season after season I’ve been improving, and this season I’ve been able to maintain a lot of consistency in performance and results, with the desire to reach the WorldTour,” said Aular, in statements collected by the Spanish team.
Triumphs in professional events of the caliber of the Matteotti Trophy, Limousin, the final classification of the CRO Race or the Portuguese generals of Alentejo and Torres Vedras are added to his list of victories in the 2023 Central American Games and two second places in WorldTour events: the penultimate stage of the Itzulia 2024, with finish in Amorebieta, and the seventh stage of La Vuelta 2023, where only the Frenchman Soupe could beat him in the mass sprint of Oliva.
Orluis takes over from José Rujano -a member of the Abarca Sports team in 2008- as the second Venezuelan talent to join the current Movistar Team.
“I’m anxious to meet the team and my future teammates and staff. I’ve already met some members of the team and I’m looking forward to making a team and contributing as much as possible,” concluded the Venezuelan.
