In another finish for sprinters, the turn this time was for Valentina Basilico (Eneicat-CM Team), who took revenge and won the fourth stage of the Women’s Tour of Colombia 2024, after riding 134 kilometers between Ciénaga and Bosconia.
The 21-year-old Italian crossed the finish line first with a time of 3:29:16″ ahead of New Zealander Rylee McMullen (DNA Pro Cycling) and Bolivian Wanda Floren Villanueva (Quici Sport-Escarabajos), who finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The best Colombian was Paula Latriglia (Colombia Potencia de la Vida) in fourth position.
The general classification did not suffer substantial changes in the first positions and Ecuadorian Esther Galarza (BMC Patobike Strongman) kept the lead, escorted by Estefanía Herrera (Mujeres Antioquia-Orgullo Paisa) 4 seconds behind.
The Women’s Tour of Colombia round will continue this Saturday with the fifth stage of 121.2 kilometers between Valledupar and Pueblo Bello. On Sunday in Valledupar we will know the successor of the Venezuelan Lilibeth Chacón, champion of the last edition.
