A total of 146 cyclists from 25 teams were registered with the Colombian Cycling Federation to participate in the ninth edition of the Women’s Tour of Colombia 2024, which will be held from August 20 to 25. Within the group of pre-registered riders there will be 81 riders in the elite category, 55 in the U-23 category and 10 second-year juniors.

Also, 37 foreign riders from Mexico, Venezuela, Canada, United States, Bolivia, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Ecuador, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Honduras, Argentina and Guatemala will take part in the race next Tuesday, August 20 in Cartagena de Indias.

In the group of pre-registered cyclists the presence of the last champion of the race stands out, the Venezuelan Lilibeth Chacón, who will be leading the BMC Patobike Strongman of Mexico and will go in search of her third title, after those achieved in 2021 and 2023.

Diana Carolina Peñuela from Caldas will be the leader of DNA Pro Cycling of the United States, a squad that will also include Canadian Kaitlyn Rauwerda, winner of the fifth stage of the race in 2023.

In the Einecat – CM Team of Spain will be the Colombian Andrea Alzate, champion of the mountains in the Tour of Guatemala, and Carolina Vargas, double national champion U-23 of CRI and Ruta in the current season.

Colombia Potencia de la Vida will count within its roster with Lina Marcela Hernández, runner-up of the race in 2022 and Ana Cristina Sanabria, champion of the first three editions of the Vuelta, in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

The Colombians Karen Lorena Villamizar, national runner-up in CRI 2024 and champion of the Clásica de Girardot, who will be the leader of the Boneshaker Project in the United States; in addition to Estefanía Herrera, champion of the Women’s Tour 2023 and Natalia Franco, who returned to the national lot after her time with the UCI World Cycling Center team and the Spanish Eneicat, cyclists who will be part of the Mujeres Antioquia – Orgullo Paisa, were also registered.

The Women’s Tour of Colombia 2024 will begin its official activity on Monday, August 19, with the review of licenses, confirmation of riders and delivery of accreditations, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon, on the second floor of the City Hall located in the Plazoleta de la Aduana, in Cartagena.
