JALISCO. From July 2 to 7 of the same month, Jalisco will host the Pan American Youth Track and Road Cycling Championships 2019 that will take place at the Pan-American Velodrome of the Paradero Sports Center for the track test and a circuit located on Vallarta Avenue. for road tests.

In a press conference, the General Director of Code Jalisco, Fernando Ortega Ramos explained the advantages of hosting the Championship, as he warns that it will be a good incentive to detonate the sport in the state.

“For some time we have built some events around cycling, such as the Gran Giro and the Critérium Guadalajara, which represent part of a strategy that helps us to detonate this sport in the capital, but which continue to add to the culture of the use of the bicycle in the city, “he said. He added that in addition to this competition there will be more international events that will help to massify the discipline, which is why the Pan-American Velodrome will intervene to recover its splendor that it had years ago and that was lost.

“We received it in unfortunate conditions of maintenance and without activities for the development of cycling. We want to work hard on this project and we have already started very important business alliances with Electrolit, where they will take ownership of the installation until it has the name of it, “he said.

Officially, the competition will begin with the track events on July 2 and conclude on the 5th; while the road tests will start on the 6th with the time trial competitions and will finish on the 7th with the background competitions.

For this edition will be the participation of 45 women and 75 men, from Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago, Bolivia, Ecuador, Cuba, Venezuela, Dominican Republic and Mexico.
