COCHABAMBA. The Bolivian Sports Minister, Tito Montaño, inaugurated tonight the Pan American Elite Cycling Championship in the city of Cochabamba, which brings together about 250 athletes from 19 countries enrolled in 11 competition tests.

“We welcome all the countries of America and tell them that we are with you to live the cycling festival. On behalf of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, I want to declare the Pan American Track Cycling Championship Cochabamba, 2019,” he said in the opening ceremony that stood out for its colorful and cultural manifestations of Bolivia.

On the occasion, the Secretary General of the Pan American Cycling Confederation (Copaci), Pedro Frías, presented the Bolivian Government with the certification of the International Cycling Union (UCI) that declares the velodrome of the Tamborada area as “Class 1”, that is, that it is endorsed for world track competitions.
