BOGOTÁ. The Colombian Sergio Higuita (EF Education First) starred in a vibrant final in the Queen stage of the Tour of California that won the new leader Tadej Pogacar (UAE-Team Emirates).

Higuita, who left in the absence of 3 kilometers to the finish in search of victory, fought an exceptional duel against the Slovak who continues to show the immense talent that made him known at the Tour de L’Avenir.

Pogacar won the sprint victory against the Colombian after 3 hours 48 minutes 49 seconds. Higuita was second in the stage and now occupies the second position in the general standings with a disadvantage of 16 seconds to one day before the end.
